Starting Fresh!

I am down 18.8 lbs. since I began my journey on January 22, 2012. The last couple of weeks I lost and gained the same 2 lbs. and started to give up hope. Today I woke up and decided that I wouldn't lose hope, so I went to my Sunday morning meeting and decided to start again! The meeting was about keeping up during the summer so here are the goals that I have set for myself:

Weight

---My weight today is 150.6 lbs.
---What I hope to weigh by Labor Day (in 13 weeks) is 135.6 lbs.

Activity

---Activities I'll be doing are playing with my kids, walking the treadmill, and (hopefully) getting back to Zumba classes.
---Something new I'll try is running outside. I currently run/walk on my treadmill but I'd like to continue this activity outside, if possible.
---How often and how long I'll plan to be active: I would like to continue my run/walk program for 3x/ week. BUT I'd love to up that to about 6x/week (work 3 days, rest, work 3 days, rest, etc.)

Lifestyle

---I will drink at least 6 glasses of water a day during the summer. I'll keep track of it on my cell phone.
---I will add fresh fruits and veggies to my daily diet. I will go to the farmer's market on Wednesday nights when I am in town.

Well, that is my start to summer! I'm off to fill my bottle of water and pick out a piece of fruit to eat! Yay me!

Starting Over - Again.

I have been on a roller coaster this past school year and I cannot get my act together. My motivation is null. I know that in order to truly get my life in order, it has to come from within. Unfortunately I cannot seem to find that internal motivation. It is so frustrating. I've missed my last two WW meetings due to other commitments and I know that is half my battle. The other have is definitely my lack of motivation. I need to change that. Where do I begin? Here. WHY do I want to lose weight? GOOD HEALTH: My cholesterol keeps creeping up on me. My latest overall score? 234. That is the highest it has been and I know that with diet and exercise I can drop that number WAY down. MY DAUGHTERS: My husband and I are both overweight. We were not always this way but after we graduated from high school and started making bad choices, the weight crept on and hasn't left. I don't want my daughters to follow in our footsteps. I want them to learn good eating and exercise habi...

Dusting this thing off and trying again!

I’m honestly not sure what the draw is to blogging for me. It definitely isn’t the “money” as I pretty much don’t have any followers (and if I do, I thank you!) and literally have ZERO sponsors but I think for me it is a form of journaling and that may be the draw. Last night as I was winding down from the day, I decided to give WW another try. I’d been paying for their services for awhile and when I “work the program” I have a lot of success. However, I’ve been avoiding the program for about an month and have had no success...go figure. My goal is to give WW one more month, follow it as best as I can, and reevaluate my situation then. I’m choosing to do the Purple Plan because I feel like that is the best one for me, at the moment. Right now I need more zero point options and this plan has the most. I preplanned breakfast and lunch, both zero points, which leaves me with 16 points for dinner. My goal is to only use 12 so that 4 will carry over giving me a little bumper for my upcoming...

Weigh In #5 - My First Gain

Yuck. I gained. It sucks. There isn't anything I can do about it EXCEPT pick myself up, brush myself off, and keep trying! Today I decided to give the WW Simply Filling technique a try. I used their CORE program way back when it first came out and I actually found that I loved it! It was easy to do and I didn't feel deprived. Crossing my fingers it works again!! Today I am spending time searching the internet for good ideas from other bloggers and creating my menu for the week as well as a shopping list. Can't wait to get started!! The best part about SF? I can drink my Starbucks and not count the points!! Woohoo!! Starting Weight: 169.4 lbs. Current Weight: 155.4 lbs. Current Week: +1.6 lbs. Total Weight Loss: 14 lbs. I do have to say that I am proud of myself for one thing. I went to my meeting today. I knew I was going to gain. I had a HORRIBLE week. I could have stayed in bed this  morning  and skipped my meeting, but I knew better. I'm glad I went. I feel bette...
